Time for some rest

Well, training is over with. Teams are now being dispersed all over the United States, including Puerto Rice, Canada, Alaska and Hawaii. Be in prayer for all of us as we begin to reach out to communities and the people within them.
We finished out training strong. The only disappointing thing that happened the entire week was that we lost the wiffle ball tournament to the national staff. bummer!! Monday, the team and I left Truett and headed to a church in Cumming GA to do our mock set up. We stayed at North Lanier Baptist Church. We had to set up all of our equipment and then the next day we were evaulated by our national staff, Steve. But we got all good reports. :) Praise God! My team is great! Thank you for praying for all of us.
Then, Tuesday night, we went to a Braves game in Atlanta. We rode the Marta, which was lots of fun.
Yesterday we had our commissioning service and we are now staying in Alpharetta, GA for the next two nights. We are all pretty exhausted but Im glad we get to sleep in some really comfy beds here ate the LaQuinta!
Well, Ive gotta get going to lunch. Miss you all and love yall lots!

Hello from Georgia

Hello my friends....It has been quite the adventure the past couple of days. Let me tell you what all has happened...

Friday:
I woke up at 2:45 AM to get my final things packed and then get ready to leave. 4AM, went to breakfast at Ziggies with Sara, Daniel, and my Dad, (Chrystal would have been there had she not been out of town). My flight was at 6AM and so, from past experiences, (spfd airport never being busy), I had decided that I didnt need to get there an hour before my flight. Instead, I thought that I would be ok getting there about 45 minutes til. BAD CHOICE!! When we got there, it was very busy. I almost didnt get to check m bags and then waited in the line to security for 20 minutes. I only got through it that fast because they made a final call for my flight and so I had to cut through the line and get run down to the gate. Then, once I got to Chicago OHare, I had a two hr lay over. Well, that flight was delayed 45 minutes because they had to switch crews and then the air conditioner wasnt working so we had to wait for that to be fixed. Then after waiting on the plane, I had to wait at the airport with the other WC people for the airport transportation man to get back to pick us up. Two and a half hours later, we left the airport (approximately, 3:15 or so). I finally got to the college just in time for dinner, 6PM. That was the first time I had eaten since m 4AM bfast. Then, after talking with Daniel for a bit, I went to bed at 9PM Eastern time, 8PM Central time. ......It was a LOOOONNG day!

Saturday:
I woke up and had some team leader training with the national staff team leader, John Bailey. After lunch we had another team leader meeting with a man who works for PLACE ministries. I dont remember his name but mainly, he taught us very interesting things about our personality and our spiritual gifts. It is very cool to see how God has put me together...He is so smart!!! Then after eating dinner, I hung out with some other WC Team Leaders (TL). Keyla also flew in late on Saturday evening and so I welcomed her to GA and we went to bed.

Sunday:
All of the TLs went to bfast and then spent the morning welcoming the remaining Summer Staffers to Truett. It was then that I met my Music Leader, (ML), Joel Haire. Then after lunch we had what we call Welcoming Celebration. We played fun games and introduce ourselves to everyone. (There are 20 teams and about 80 SS (Summer Staffers). After the celebration, we had the Amazing Race. Mainly it was a scavenger hunt between all of the teams. My team got 6th place!! WOOHOO!! We had one clue where a person from each team had to jump into a pool and dive down to the bottom to get a clue. We also had another where we had to bowl a strike.....I got one with the second ball I threw...and I threw a spare on the first. haha!! I didnt realize that I was such a bowler! (side note- I went bowling lastnight with other SSs and I got a 105 and a 104!! That is good for me!) After the amazing race we went out to eat with our teams. My team drove the Gainesville and ate at Applebees. We had our first team meeting, which went really well, and we also got to know each other a little better.

Monday:
This was packing day at the warehouse. It is at the warehouse that we pack all of our supplies for the summer. My job as TL is to send the team to get the supplies and I organize them into boxes and place them on pallets. The pallets then get wrapped with plastic and mailed to us throughout the summer. We got there at 10 AM and left a little after 5 PM . It was alot of hard hard hard work! We also packed our trailer with the supplies for our first project and lots of coolers for the participants (Ill have to take a picture and put it on here so yall call see). ALSO, while we were at the warehouse, we are instructed how to hook up the trailer and check for maintenance. Obviously, I already know how to do all of those things but my new peeps needed to be taught. After that, we discovered that the car rental company, Triangle did not put a trailer break control things mabobber in my expedition. So I was then instructed to drive very carefully back to the college, which is about an hour drive. But no worries, Im a stud at driving that big thing, so it was ok. And yes, yall may not believe that I can drive a big vehicle since I have a bug, but I most certainly can. :) After returning and eating, I went with my team and about 7 other teams, to a bowling ally. It was lots of fun and I was yet again, a STUD!! haha!

Today:
We had to pack all of our medical supplies and we also have shot some of our staff video.....it will be put on facebook once it is completely, that way yall can see it. Then, after having lunch, we had driving school. This is where we practice backing up with the trailer and then driving around town. Oh, AND we got a new expedition today! Because of the break problem, the rental company brought us a new one, it is blue. I was really hoping for a red one, but oh well. Its ok. But let me tell you, these expeditions are so cool. They have back up cameras in the rear view mirror. Also, they have a DVD player, head phones and a device that lets you answer your phone using bluetooth. You push a button on the steering wheel and it answers. When the other person talks, you hear them through the speakers. How cool is that?! Tonight we are having dinner and then having our first worship! I am so excited! Tomorrow Joel, my ML will be leading in worship, so be praying for his as he prepares for that.

OH....I cant forget to mention about Quinton, my AV (sound guy). He has been here for a couple days longer than me.

Well, that is all Ive done....like I said, it has been busy!! Continue to pray for my team as we get to know one another and grow in the Lord. Oh, give Daniel a hug for me, will ya? Thanks! :)

Love and miss yall!!

Hello Summer Staff 2010

Well, as most of you know, I am leaving again for WC summer staff in just a few days. I leave a week from this Friday on the 21st. This summer, I am the team leader/office manager for the Georgia team. But for now, before I leave, I am going to begin relaxing and sleep a couple extra hours in order to prepare for my crazy busy summer. I took the two finals that I have to take today and now I only have to attend the remaining finals, but dont have to take any test. PRAISE THE LORD!! This Friday is also my last day at work so I will definitley be resting before I leave.

Well, I will end this. The next blog, I will introduce you to my team. They are some great people!
Im so excited about working with all three of them this summer!

Number 4 project down...well, almost!

Sorry that I havent done a very good job keeping you all updated on this weeks project. Everything has run very smoothly here in Lubbock. We have been truly blessed by the people here and the amount of the city sponsors this project. Can I just tell you that the crews have done an amazing job sharing the love of Christ with the community. According to lastnight's numbers, there have been 230 presentations of the gospel, 7 recommitments and 28 salvations. Now if that isnt something to praise the Lord about, I dont know what is.
We have a crew cheif here this week named, Jimmy Red. He is from Mississippi and has a true compassion for those that dont know the truth of Christ. His crew alone led 11 people to Christ on Monday. He spoke with me a little on Sunday and he was a huge encouragement to me. He told me stories about how God has really emphasized the importance of not missing a opportunity to share Christ. He told me that tele-marketers are one of his most favorite groups of people. He never even lets them get started because he jumps right in sharing the gospel. It was so cool to hear him talk about that. In many cases, I know that we dispise getting those phone calls, but he doesnt. I was convicted by the spirit because I know in many circumstances, I miss opportunities because I dont have confidence that the Spirit can speak through me to others. ...just thought yall would like this and perhaps it convicts your hearts too.
Some of you may know this already, but others may not....I got sick yesterday and it was horrible. There is some sort of bug floating around the school and I caught it yesterday. Luckily I was able to sleep it away for the most part yesterday. Many of you would now know this but the beginning and end of the project is when my work load is heavy and I was very scared that it would not work out very well. But God healed my body quickly and I am much better today.
Well, that is an update on my life this past week. The crews have done a great job working this week and have been very successful. God is so good!!

Prayer request: pray for Daniel as he travels this weekend to see me for a couple of days in San Antonio. Also, pray for our youth as they head for Virginia today. Pray that the Lord will work in a mighty way this next week.

Love you all! See yas real soon!

Ive arrived in Lubbock, TX

Well, Im here..back in the great state of Texas. Yesterday we were in Fort Worth and were reunited with our first PC, Shawn Edwards. I cannot tell you how good is was to see him and his family and reunite. I was reminded yet again, why I am doing what I am doing. I was reminded of that passion I had at the beginning of the summer before I had trouble in Cinci. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and concerns. The team and I appreciate them.
Yesterday we went with Shawn to the JFK museum and to a very famous mexican restuarnt. It was delicious!! And the museum was very interesting too. And we revisited the grassy knoll once again for old times sake.
But now we are in Lubbock in a hotel and we head off to our lodging, a school, to get to work tomorrow. The coordinators here in Lubbock are having a cook-out for us tomorrow evening...so we look forward to that. Home-cooked meals...yummy!! (Im expecting some from all of you when I come home) haha!!
I have to end this, but before I do....I want you to know...on our drive today, I drove for 3 and a half hours straight and you wanna know what I saw. I saw a very straight and flat road for miles and thousands of windmills. What an entertaining car ride, huh? Yeah, that is was I thought too.
Love you all...take care. (And by the way, give Daniel a hug for me whenever you see him.)

We leave tomorrow

Well, tonight is the last full day in Cincinnati. I must say, I am glad to be headed back to TExas. The only thing is, Im not really looking forward to the long drive back. But Im sure we will have lots of good times on the road.
By the way, tanks to the WIN group for their very sweet card. I just got it today and it meade my heart very happy. :) So far, we have have had 6 salvations this week and many seeds planted. There are still come crews out working as I write this so I dont know the final numbers. The offering this week was 1193 dollars. Not as good as Dallas but still good.
Oh, I wanted to tell you all....we do have a blog for the team. It is more of an update for the participants parents to follow up with the project but we post pictures and thing son there. If you go to world-changers.net and then find the project, you will see the blog. So feel free to look on there. The next project that I have will be in a week in Lubbock TX. We are all very excited to get there and get a fresh start.
I dont want you all to think taht we didnt enjoy Cincinnati, but the Lord definitley tested our team. We concored the devil this week and you have no idea how hapopy that makes my heart.
Well pray for us as we travel this week and for the churches that will be traveling back home tomorrow. I will keep you updated with the great days we have ahead of us this next week.
Love you all and miss yas!

Quick update

We are chuggin along. The past two days have been crazy busy for all of us. Normally once a project get started and the participants are off to work, it is not that busy. But for some odd reason, yesterday was one of my busiest days ever. But I made it through. Now I am just extremely tired. Hopefully I will have time for a nap today.
The situation with our project coordinator has gotten a little better. This is partly to do with the fact that all fo the really difficult things are done and now we only have to be sure that the work is getting done. Thank you for your prayers. The whole team appreviates them.
As for the students this week. Tehy are great. Many of them have never been to world changers before and so it is cool to hear about the simple things taht they enjoy.
We did have a girl get hit in the face with the claw of a hammer. And this was 30 minutes after they got to the worksite. So if you couldnt guess this already that is part of the reason why I was so busy yesterday.
Please pray for me cause I have been struggling the past couple days with leadership and others being submissive. I honestly believe that part of the reason for this is the fact that we are all so stressed. If you would like further details about that, please ask Daniela nd then pray for me.
Love yas!

My great sisters..oh how I will miss them this summer!
